Armed men suspected to be kidnappers, on Thursday, Aug. 19, allegedly killed a Police operative attached to the Taraba State Police Command.
Also, an operative of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), was abducted by the same suspected kidnappers on Thursday.
According to the Taraba Command Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Usman, who confirmed both incidents, CRIMECHANNELS gathered that both occurred on Thursday, August 19, 2021.
The PPRO said, “both crimes took place on Thursday, in the Sabongeri area of the Jalingo metropolis.”

He said that the deceased sergeant was hacked to death
in Sabongeri where the mobile police station is located.
Speaking on the Customs officer that was whisked away, he said that the Police have launched a search and rescue team with a view to rescue the victim, and apprehend the kidnappers.
He appealed to members of the public to assist the Police Command by providing them with credible information, which according to him, will be used to arrest the suspects.
