President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday met with a former military Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, in Aso Villa, Abuja.
This was confirmed by Bashir Ahmad, the Personal Assistant on New Media to the President.
“President @MBuhari receives in audience former Head of State Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar (rtd) at the State House, Abuja,” Ahmad tweeted.
Ahmad, however, did not state the purpose of the meeting.

Abdulsalami was Nigeria’s Head of State between June 1998 and May 1999, before handing over power to a democratically elected President, Olusegun Obasanjo.
He is currently the Chairman of the National Peace Committee.
