A Leading contestant in the 2022 governorship election in Ekiti State, Engr. Kayode Ojo, has charged youths in the state to be productive as the current unemployment crisis cannot be handled solely by government jobs.
Ojo gave this admonition at the 2021 Ijurin day celebration and the Launching of the One Hundred Million Naira (N100,000,000) campaign for the completion of an Ultra Modern Royal Palace for the Ojurin of Ijurin Ekiti, HRM Oba Joachim Adeyemi Afolabi.
Ojo, who was chairman and Chief launcher at the occasion, said, ”It is a wonderful honour to deem me worthy of being the Chairman/Chief Launcher of this yearly event. I do not see myself as an outsider who is disconnected from this community as my Father late High Chief (Dr) Joshua Akanbi Ojo (Eiseba of Ikoro Ekiti) married a lovely woman from this town, and she, a wonderful stepmother, so technically by extension and bloodline, I am a bonafide son of Ijurin ‘Land of Hospitality’.

He commended the Governor of Ekiti State Dr. John Kayode Fayemi for being a creative governor. ”Many people take their culture for granted because it has become so firmly embedded in their lives, and they fail to recognize its ability to propel progress. Culture is critical to any society’s creative capacity and it is unquestionably an important area in which to invest. Luckily our creative Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi is on that path with the ongoing Construction of an airport on Ekiti Land,” Ojo added.
He explained that the importance of the occasion cannot be ignored as offers a time to reunite with families and friends, to reconnect with our base, and to exchange ideas, to share experiences and to refresh relationships.
