Emanuella Samuel, popularly known as Emanuella, has now hit 1.5 million views on YouTube for her debut feature movie, ‘Survive or Die’. The international collaboration, directed by Daniel Okoduwa and Mike Kang, was shot in Australia in 2018 and eventually released in 2020.
The comedienne appeared as a guest star alongside Hawa Barnes, Felino Dolloso and Craig Bourke in the survival action thriller.
Late last year, the film was released via Amazon’s streaming service, Amazon Prime, and then released on Google’s freemium video-sharing platform, YouTube.
‘Survive Or Die’ is an epic tale about a 16-year-old refugee whose escape from her war-torn African country lands her in a remote part of Australia. The story follows her struggle against the elements and mortal enemies as she fights for her life.
One of the film’s directors, Daniel Okoduwa, opined that the movie’s traction is probably due to 10-year-old Emmanuella’s involvement.
“1 million views in just a week!!!”, he said. “The inclusion of Emmanuella Samuel in this movie may be the driving force behind these high views in just a few days.”
