Adebayo Shittu, a former Minister of Communications, has come to the defense of President Bola Tinubu, stating that those calling for his resignation are frustrated political personalities thinking irrationally. Shittu argued that it is too early to pass judgment on Tinubu’s government, which has only been in office for a little over a year.

Shittu described the calls for Tinubu’s resignation as misguided and uncharitable, noting that the president has not been accused of corruption since taking office. He also highlighted that the problems facing Nigeria today are not new and have been ongoing for over 30 years, under various governments.

Shittu’s comments come after some Northern politicians expressed discontent with Tinubu’s government, with some calling for his resignation.

However, Shittu dismissed these calls, stating that they are undemocratic and unwholesome.
