Gunmen Attack President Buhari’s Minister’s Aide, Empty His Account, Cart Away Vehicle

Abosede Oluwaseun, aide to the Minister of Interior and former Governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola has narrated his ordeal in the hands of suspected armed robbers.

Abosede, a staunch member of the Osun Progressives (TOP), told Journalists on Friday, Aug. 27, that his residence located at Dada Estate in Osogbo, Osun was besieged by five masked men. According to him, the men who wielded assault rifles invaded his house on Thursday night.

He said that the robbers ordered him to transfer all the money he had into his wife’s account, after which they took away  his wife’s ATM card.

Narrating what happened, he said that the men gained entry into his compound by jumping the fence. He said they then entered through the kitchen door as his wife was about to close it.

He said that the armed hoodlums threatened to kill him and his wife. He said, both of them were later tied up and mercilessly beaten with a machete. He said that he sustained a cut during the beating.

He added, “while all this was happening, the security features on my phone were deactivated and all the money I have, I transferred in to my wife’s account. The armed robbers carted away with my wife’s ATM card.”

After the operation, he explained that the armed men entered his Toyota Camry and drove off. He however, said that the car was later recovered early Friday morning with the number plates detached.

Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer in Osun State, CSP Yemisi Opalola confirmed the attack. She said that Abosede reported the case to the Dada Estate Police Station, and that his car was recovered afterwards.
