There was heavy presence of armed police officers at the Lekki tollgate on Monday as Police trucks were parked on one side of the ever-busy road.
The state police command had warned residents of the state against staging an #EndSARS anniversary protest earlier in the day.
The command in a statement said it had credible information that some persons planned to stage a protest to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the #EndSARS protest that swept across the country in October 2020. The police said the state could not afford another protest and that it would deal with anyone that staged a protest.
Video footage recorded from the Lekki tollgate Thursday showed police presence in that axis of the state.
The state police spokesperson, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, confirmed the presence of the police officers and said he is not certain when the police presence would end.
