Lagos CP orders investigation of DPO over alleged theft of service pistol, sex in office

 Commissioner of Police, Lagos State command, Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered an independent, thorough and unbiased investigation into the reported case of theft of service pistol against one Jenifer Madueke, and the allegation of sex in the office against DPO Denton Police Division, CSP Adegoke Atilade.

 Odumosu’s order was hinged on the publication on pages 4 and 5 of Friday’s edition of the Punch.

Punch reported that the DPO, CSP Atilade lost his gun after alleged office sex, and then got her arrested and tortured to get her to confess.

CSP Atilade was said to have also taken his 29-year-old lover to a herbalist.

Akinlade, when contacted by PUNCH, confirmed losing his pistol, but denied taking Ms Madueke to the herbalist.

He also claimed that his lover stole N50,000 from him.

Reacting to the scandalous incident, Odumosu in a statement issued on Friday by the Lagos State Command’s spokesperson, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu disclosed that the DPO has been deployed.

He said, “Members of the public are hereby assured that appropriate actions will be taken against anyone found culpable at the conclusion of the ongoing investigation such that at the end, justice would have been served.

“Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police has directed immediate redeployment of the officer in the eye of the storm so as to pave the way for a diligent and unbiased investigation,” the statement added.
