There is a common term among Nigerians that says “No shortcut to heaven” which means there is no other way to return to the maker beyond death.

Death, they say it is inevitable for all but it is expected of mankind mostly the believers, to seek for long life and pray for thy kingdom of the Lord in the hereafter.

However, Among the three people that died in April is Sam Obi, the former acting Governor of Delta State.

According to reports, Obi died in his residence in Asaba on the 3rd of the month after battling with an undisclosed ailment for some years.

The prominent Nigerian who was also a former speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly was said to have flown abroad for treatment in 2019 following a serious health-related issue.

We learnt that he became the acting Governor of Delta pending a re-run election after an Appeal Court nullification of the state former Governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan.

A Member House Of Representatives Who Also Died In The Same Month.

One of the Nigerian lawmakers whose name is given as Haruna Maitala reportedly died in a car accident including his son, driver and his aide while returning from Abuja to Jos on Saturday night being 2nd of April 2021.

The Honourable who was representing Jos North/Bassa federal constituency in the National Assembly was said to be the fifth member of the lower legislative chamber to have died in the ninth assembly.

According to a statement issued by his Senior Aide, Joseph Audu, he said their corpses were deposited at Kwoi General Hospital in the Jabba Local Government of Kaduna State but they will buried at Jos.

Reports made it known that Yinka Odumakin is a popular human rights activist and National Publicity Secretary of the Pan-Yoruba sociocultural group and also a journalist.

We learnt that he died of Covid-19 complications at isolation centre of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH.

According to his biography, he was a former journalist at punch newspaper before he moved to the Guardian newspaper. He was once appointed as spokesman by General Muhammadu Buhari during his 2011 presidential campaign.

Odumakin however served as the spokesman for the Yoruba group known as Afenifere until his death.
