Our attention has been drawn to a viral video where one Mr. Adebowale, a job seeker claimed to have been denied a job by the owner of the recent collapsed building on the grounds of his faith as a Muslim, is most unfortunate. For Mr. Adebowale to have paraded himself mocking the late Mr. Femi, owner of the collapsed building only a few days after the unfortunate incident is heart-wrenching. Does Adobowale even care to remind himself about the high number of people who lost their precious lives in that incident?
The worst of it all is the so-called Prof Is-haq Akintola, Director Muslim Rights Concern ( MURIC). His response to the video is an outright display of heartlessness and evil-mindedness. Is-haq Akintola is a pugnacious fellow, a frustrated and defeated mind whose only philosophy is to ride on the crest of religious sentiment to cheap Fame. He is always seeking who to blame for self-inflicted woes.
Obviously, the group lacks responsible and meaningful leadership. Considering their operations and activities, one is impelled to indict their director, Mr. Akintola, and conclude that he obtained his professorial certification in ” Religious Bigotry” This group called MURIC is motivated by a handful of evil-minded and disgruntled elements who try to use the Bible faith of Islam to perpetuate their evil agenda against Nigeria as a united entity. I challenge Mr. Akintola to support his claim that Muslims are being denied employment in Christian-owned organizations. Let him give us the faultless statistics of the number of Muslims in the employment of Lagos State, as well as that of private organizations.
MURIC is an empty vessel that makes the greatest noise. Our nation is currently going through a very tough time. This is not the time to carelessly play the religious cards of sentiment. We are experiencing excruciating pains of political thuggery, and armed banditry which explains our current state of high insecurity. These are enough problems to capture the attention of any well-meaning Nigerian.
Mr. Akintola should be given a stern warning to desist from fomenting trouble using the umbrella of Islam to cover up his hidden agenda against Nigeria. As a group, we condemn evil insinuations by MURIC as we embrace our genuine Muslim brothers and sisters to build a purposeful and virile Nigerian nation.
If MURIC could not sympathize with the families of those who gruesomely lost their lives but could find the opportunity to play up the religious sentiment by castigating Christians,  then the group poses a big threat to the corporate existence of our nation. MURIC IS NOTHING, BUT A MUSK-RAT.
Dr. Charles Okhai,
President on behalf of the Nigerian Association of Christian Journalists (NACJ).
