The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has denied reports that they refused to register Science and Laboratory Technology (SLT) graduates at their Gombe State orientation camp.

The reports alleged that polytechnic graduates who studied SLT were denied access for not having professional certificates from the National Institute for Science Laboratory Technology (NISLT).

However, the state NYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Chinwe Nwachuku, has described the claims as “untrue and baseless.” She stated that all graduates who showed up in Gombe were registered and are currently undergoing their orientation course.

“In Gombe camp, I am not aware of any SLT graduate not registered. We registered everyone with or without a license. We registered them because the headquarters gave the directive to register all, with or without a license. Nobody was denied registration as far as Gombe camp is concerned,” she said.

This denial comes after reports surfaced that some SLT graduates were turned away due to lack of professional certification. The NYSC has reassured that all eligible graduates are welcome to participate in the program, regardless of their certification status.
