NYSC Member Gives Birth At Bayelsa Camp

A pregnant woman deployed to Bayelsa State camp of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for the 2021 batch B orientation course, Yanusa Ranatu, was delivered of a baby boy on Thursday.

The corps member from Kwara State, after concluding her registration at the camp located at Kaiama, began to experience labour and was taken to Bayelsa Referral Hospital in the area by camp officials.

The state’s coordinator of NYSC, Mrs Ojugo Iyowuna, who led a delegation of camp officials to visit her at the hospital on Friday, presented items to support the baby and his mother.

Mrs Iyowuna thanked God for the safe delivery of the child and the safety of the mother.

She commended the doctor in charge of the hospital, Dr Mbanusi Chiebonam Clara, a serving NYSC member and the nurses on duty for their resilience during the delivery process.

According to the hospital officials, the mother and baby are in good condition.
