Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has emphasized that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Asue Ighodalo, is not a ‘push-and-start’ candidate, but a competent individual capable of managing the state’s affairs.

Obaseki made this assertion at a campaign rally in Agenebode, headquarters of Etsako East Local Government Area, stating that the current situation in the country demands a leader with the capacity to navigate the challenges facing the state.

He expressed his preference for Ighodalo to succeed him, highlighting the need for continuity in the good governance already established in Edo State. Obaseki emphasized that electing someone grossly incompetent would be a disservice to the state.

“Ighodalo is not a ‘push-and-start’ candidate. The state requires competent hands to manage its affairs, especially considering the suffering ravaging Nigeria today. It would be a big disservice to elect someone incapable of managing the state. Edo is already enjoying good governance, and that’s why I brought Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie to continue the good work,” Obaseki said.

He assured the people that the foundation ceremony for the School of Agriculture (Fishry and Aqua Culture) would continue with Ighodalo if elected as the next governor.
