The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has added to its membership figures as a member of the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon Abraham Oba, joined the nation’s main opposition party.

Frank Talk Now  understands that the politician who was a chieftain of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), defected to PDP on Tuesday, October 5.

Stating his reasons for dumping APGA in a letter read on the floor of the house by the Speaker, Rt. Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, during its plenary session yesterday, Oba cited the lack of internal democracy and the factional crisis rocking the Abia chapter of the party for his withdrawal from the party.

According to the lawmaker, the crisis in APGA has dwindled the fortunes of the party in the state. Oba explained further that he dumped the party after thorough consultations with family, associates and entire constituents of Aba Central.

Frank Talk Now recall that Oba who is presently representing Aba Central Constituency at the state assembly was elected twice on the platform of APGA between 2015 and 2019.
