The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed the death of three of its officials by lightning.
The FRCN spokesperson, Mr. Bisi Kazeem, who confirmed this in a statement on Thursday, said the officials died on Wednesday during the heavy rain that came with a sharp lightening and thunderous sound. All the deceased officials were from the Ijebu Ode unit of the command.
.He said five staff members were affected but two survived the shock due to lesser voltages that passed through them. He said the immediate application of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on one of the victims by another staff that ran immediately to the scene upon hearing their loud scream, also helped in saving the lives of the survivors.
