A young African lady named Akinokun Rafiat has been awarded two prestigious scholarships to study for her master’s degree at a University in Europe.
Akinokun Rafiat, a Nigerian woman won the full Erasmus Mundus Excellence Scholarship to pursue a dual master’s in Public Health degree at the The University of Sheffield and Maastricht University.

She shared her achievement of winning the scholarship on her Linkedin stating that she will be earning a double master’s degree through the European Masters in Public Health (Europubhealth).
”I am thrilled to have embarked on the Europubhealth programme, pursuing a dual master’s in public health at The University of Sheffield and Maastricht University, thanks to the fully-funded Erasmus Mundus Excellence Scholarship,” she wrote.
Rafiat was also awarded the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship at Queen’s University Belfast to study for her master’s. She said receiving the prestigious scholarships emphasizes the importance of personal and professional growth, excellence, passion, and unwavering determination she showed.
She applauded herself for displaying determination and resilience, particularly as she applied for highly competitive scholarships during a challenging first trimester of pregnancy.
Rafiat expressed her gratitude to her husband for his noteworthy input during her application while also supporting and believing in her potential. She also thanked reviewers, mentors, and organizations that shaped her career for their support, influence, and guidance.
