The National Youth Service Corps has urged parents of prospective corps members to disregard information regarding online deployment and redeployment services for corps members.
The NYSC Coordinator for the South West area, Emmanuel Attah, said the information being circulated online was aimed at extorting prospective corps members with the promises of getting them posted to preferred states for service.
In a statement signed by Attah, NYSC warned candidates to be careful and disregard such false adverts, adding that the scheme has the sole authority to deploy and redeploy.
“Prospective corps members are advised to debunk such information or advert circulating around, as it is devoid of facts, unfounded and misleading,” the statement read.
Speaking further, Attah said investigation had been launched by the scheme’s national headquarters in Abuja, to fish out those behind the scam.
